CRUISING AT FLIGHT LEVEL AND FMC ENTRIES T oday I decide to return to Aerowinx using the exercise Basic013 Climbing to cruising level.situ. Which was a great return exercise after having not flown for many months . When I leveled out at both FL310 (31,000 feet) and FL330 (33,00 feet) I noticed how quickly the wind direction changed at these levels which must have really occurred as the file is based on a real Singapore Airlines Flight (SQ47) flown back in 2014 between Anchorage Alaska, and Schipol Airport in Amsterdam, Holland. I have two questions. The flight is managed by the FMC (Flight Management Computer) by whichever pilot has command so: 1. Does the PNF (Pilot Not Flying) who monitors the systems have to update the Wind Data on the FMC every time their is a change of direction with the wind; sometimes every two minutes? 2. I calculated an OAT (Outside Air Temperature) as a measure of density of the air by applying the International Standard Atmosphere used
