CHOOSING OUTLET TEMPERATURES
Here is the first of a number of questions on the B747 systems which can be answered if you think about it logically
With the Passenger Temperature Selector in AUTO and
the air conditioning system operating normally, which temperature zone
determines the outlet temperature of the air conditioning packs?
Air conditioning packs (small generators) as it suggests mean the air conditioning systems for the aircraft primarily at cruise Level; think about passenger comfort
Air conditioning packs (small generators) as it suggests mean the air conditioning systems for the aircraft primarily at cruise Level; think about passenger comfort
Is it:
a. The zone requiring the coolest air supply
b. The zone requiring the warmest air supply
c. The warmest zone
The answer is a.
The zone requiring the coolest air supply .While monitoring the various temperatures the system looks for the area requiring the COOLEST AIR SUPPLY. One of the drawbacks all model large jetlners has been that the OUTFLOW VALVE which removes stale air has never been large & efficient enough.
This was one of the reasons passengers felt so "sleepy" on long haul flights; there was never enough oxygen within the aircraft itself.
