"DIVERSION" EXERCISE USING CPDLC
Hallo everyone i`m back after having my head in various professional texts for the last month.
Like not flying at your local flying club, i have been a little bit rusty. First of I did an approach into Delhi & a successful approach after a near miss traffic situation, see the image below
What I have discovered & been surprised by is the CPDLC (Controller Pilot data Link Communications) just like real world scenarios which are just great for "diversion" training & here below I`m diverting to Suva (NFAN) off the Sydney (YSSY)-Los Angeles track (KLAX) due to a proposed medical emergency
diversion. See below
As you can see I`m going to have to fly another 70 nautical miles north before descending into the South East Runway 28 on an RNAV (Radio Navigation) approach where you navigate "through" various VOR/DME (VHF Omni Range & Distance Measuring Equipment) frequencies & readouts to place yourself within a stable approach at 1,000 feet.
Let me know what your favourite "diversion" exercise is & have you used CPDLC communications and change the screen setting in Aerowinx to successfully complete the assessment.
Till next time,
Neil
