I was wondering around the Web tonight when I came across this link from the University of Sydney about a project called Variable Stability Flight Simulator that they have created from an ex Qantas Boeing 707 airframe.
It seems to be an ongoing project for Aviation students. http://web.aeromech.usyd.edu.au/vsfs/sim_history.html
What is interesting is under the sub heading Simulator Types they mention Aerowinx along with a few others as "more accurately reflecting the flight mechanics".
This is a website that works using Web 2.0; by clicking on one of the images you are taken to quite a complex description of what is involved, which doesn`t always happen.
There is also a photo gallery & a video (although small) of A380 simulator training.
This site would be an excellent educational resource for physics or IT at a basic level.
Till next time,
Neil
